About

Since opening its doors in 1994, the Mark Moore Gallery has concentrated on the presentation of new artists and helping them to cultivate successful and long-term careers.

Over the last 3 years the gallery has diverted its focus from West Coast artists and has concentrated on developing the more international aspects of the program. This has been achieved both by placing artists’ work in exhibitions in cities worldwide (including but not limited to New York, Barcelona, London, Frankfurt, Salzburg, Rome, and Daegu in 2008 alone), and by expanding the roster to include artists from around the world (at present US, UK, Belgium, Austria, Israel, Japan). This new direction has also resulted in a diverse, yet still cohesive, program that includes more installation work and new media, whilst still maintaining a strong roster of painting and sculpture. We have also participated in more art fairs over recent years.

Another facet of this new direction is the aim to produce strong curatorial, thematic group shows in order to explore the various conditions and issues relevant to contemporary practice. The annual Ultrasonic International exhibition not only provides a means to explore this curatorial aspect but also to present artists who have never shown with the gallery before. It is therefore an opportunity to expose and develop relevant and innovative work.

We feel our blog will allow us to further develop and connect with an emerging, innovative and international art scene.
